Transfer Readiness Assessment: Knowing What You Are Really Transferring
Before a technology transfer starts, it is worth answering one question honestly: is what we plan to transfer actually ready to be transferred?

Many transfers start on a timeline set by a business decision, before anyone has checked whether the technology, documentation and processes are mature enough to move. A transfer readiness assessment answers that question early, when the answer is still cheap to act on.
What the assessment covers
- Completeness and accuracy of documentation.
- Process maturity, yield and stability at the source.
- Equipment, tooling and test systems, and their transferability.
- Supplier qualification and the possibility of local sourcing.
- Knowledge held by key people, and how much of it is documented.
- Regulatory, certification and export-control requirements.
The outcome
The assessment produces a readiness score per area, a list of gaps ranked by risk, and a recommended transfer plan: what must be fixed before transfer, what can be fixed during it, and realistic timelines.
Hardware, software and cyber
- Hardware: process documentation and yield stability are the most common gaps.
- Software: architecture documentation, build environments and tests are often underestimated.
- Cyber: access, data and export-control constraints must be addressed before knowledge moves.
How we work
A focused assessment, typically a few weeks, combining documentation review, site visits and interviews, with a clear report for management and, where relevant, for the receiving party.
